
Teka Braga Cortes
Teka Braga Côrtes , lives and works as a visual artist in Curitiba. In recent years has been investigating engraving exploring its marks and variations, addressing specific procedures of this language such as the burin, drypoint, etching, aquatint and reliefs on paper, seeking variations and developments of matrices, creating overlays and overlaps with the graphic use of color, chalcographic impressions and its possible variations on repositioning in the composition of the engravings.
Higher Education Course in Painting and Degree in Drawing - Paraná School of Music and Fine Arts/1984. Attended the Studio Engraving with Uiara Bartira and Sandra Correa; the Course at the Ecòle de Beaux Arts in Nancy; the “Atelier 17” of Willian Hayter, Paris – France; the “Scuola Internazionale di Gráfica”, Venice in Italy and the “Taller de Passage" by professor José Luís Porcar in Seville in Spain. She was awarded for the body of work at the IX Engraving Exhibition. In 2017 he published the book Engravings / Teka Braga Cortes and continues to develop his I work in engraving in my own studio in Curitiba, holding the solo exhibition “Memórias das Chapas” at the Guido Viaro Museum/2021 and “Marcas e Variações” at Galeria 43 in Shopping Novo Batel/2023.
