
Mazé Mendes
Maria José de Oliveira Mendes was born in Laranajeira do Sul (PR), spent her childhood and adolescence in Palmas (PR) and currently lives and works in Curitiba (PR). She holds a bachelor's degree in Painting and a degree in Drawing from the School of Music and Fine Arts of Paraná (EMBAP/UNESPAR - 1975) and a postgraduate degree in Higher Education Methodology from the Faculty of Arts of Paraná (FAP/UNESPAR - 1986).
She has taken extension courses in Art History and Printmaking, among others, from the Engraving Museum of the City of Curitiba and the Creativity Center of Curitiba (now the Paranista Memorial). She worked as an art teacher in several schools from regular to high school in the 1970s and 1980s and also in higher education, at the Faculty of Arts of Paraná (FAP/UNESPAR), from 1985 to 2008.
He has taught art workshops in several cities in Paraná, funded by the State Secretariat of Culture (SEEC). He has been an active participant in the Brazilian and international art scene since the late 1970s, with group and solo exhibitions.
