Leila Alberti
Leila Alberti was born in Quilombo, in the interior of Santa Catarina and currently lives and works in Curitiba.
In 1987 he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Painting from the School of Music and Fine Arts in Curitiba, the following year in Curitiba he became a Bachelor's Degree in Letters from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná and, in 2005 he improved his knowledge by becoming a Specialist in Contemporary Poetics in Art Teaching at the Universiade Tuiuti do Paraná in Curitiba.
For Leila, choosing art as a life activity is the conscious acceptance of the dynamics of creating and producing, making visible and assuming responsibility for its developments and lack of control beyond the studio door. Painting has a broad space in her work, but several issues coexist in her thinking. These are expressions that need other means to exist: assemblages, objects and embroidery. They are consequences of the mental process and, naturally, the need for the real existence of the artistic product is. At the same time that the painting takes place – in its quadrature – she feels the volumes and textures in the surroundings, which demand attention at all times: body, furniture, books, fabrics, objects and nature beyond the windows - human coexistence. Her practice mixes perspectives in many research variations that tell about her memories of the past in the midst of nature and of what is seen and experienced in urban coexistence. The identity of the being and its actions in society guide her in the textile series in the Bordaduras collective, in the coordination of the Bordas collective and in social art projects.
