| BIOGRAFIA

Désirée Sessegolo

Italian-Brazilian designer Désirée Sessegolo has dedicated herself to contemporary glass art for 15 years.

Désirée developed a new way of working with glass, which, by agglutinating particles of the material, creates textures and hollow spaces that resemble cellular structures. Hence the name "Cellular Glass." Her work earned recognition from Italian critic Jean Blanchaert for its poetic style, technique, and colors.

The artist's work can be associated with organic abstractionism and is present in objects, sculptures, and installations, displayed in more than 60 exhibitions and biennials in museums throughout Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, the United States, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, and especially in Italy. In Venice, the land of glass, Désirée was selected to exhibit her works at the Hub of The Venice Glass Week festival for five consecutive editions, flanked by important contemporary artists.

The artist has works in the collections of museums in Bulgaria, Italy and Costa Rica.
